    1740 - Skating 101 (Ages 3 and Up)

    This is the entry-level program for anyone looking to play ice hockey, figure skate, or who simply has a desire to master the skills of ice skating for recreational purposes. It is designed for beginners of all ages and is run by professionally trained ice hockey and figure skating instructional staff. Rental skates are provided at no cost, if needed; and each class is broken up by age and skill levels, creating a safe and enjoyable skating experience for all participants. Each class is broken into two 25-minute segments - one dedicated for on-ice lessons and one dedicated to practice time where participants get an opportunity to work on the learned skills.
    Please bring a bike/hockey helmet for safety.

    Hockey 101 is the Step #1 of the Iceplex Learn to Play Hockey Programs. This program is designed with an emphasis on having fun and creating a positive and comfortable learning atmosphere. The goal of Hockey 101 is to introduce participants to the game of ice hockey. Participants will gear up in full equipment for the first time, taking the ice as a real hockey player! H101 focuses solely on phase 1 hockey skills; skating, early stick handling, and shooting techniques. This into to the game of hockey will allow skaters an opportunity to test the waters and see if they enjoy the fastest game on earth!

    1949 - Sewing &Textile Arts(Gr 3& Up)

    The sewing/textile arts programs taught by Creativity Shell are customized and structured based on age, location, and size of the class we are working with. Structured programs are designed to give confidence to students. During the class sewing machines will be used and all materials and supplies will be provided. Students begin with easy projects with instant gratification. As the class progresses students will work on projects that take a few classes to complete and by the last few classes they are working on a larger project which incorporates techniques and skills they have learned such as adding zippers, pockets, button holes and more. Kids will do several projects over 12 weeks. New projects will be done so feel free to take the class again.

    2209 - Rainbow Ribbons (4-10 yr)

    Aesthetic Group Gymnastics is relatively new to the U.S. and brought to us by a rhythmic gymnast who has competed all around the world. The Rainbow Ribbons program is non-competitive, allowing children to explore the combined graceful art of music, dance, and gymnastics in a supervised, fun setting. The children will learn how to work and trust each other as a team in a pleasant, upbeat setting while they learn artistic routines. Equipment includes scarves, ball, hoops, and ropes. Children will learn the basics of core strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and rhythm. They will also learn body waves, swings, ballet, gymnastic jumps and leaps, and dance steps.

    An educational Soccer program that emphasizes fun. All curriculums facilitate the development of motor and coordination skills. All sessions are held in a fun and positive environment, where players are encouraged to play with a smile on their face. Listed below is a breakdown of each age groups skill appropriate curriculum.
    Ages 2-3: 2 & 3-year olds will work on basic skills such as dribbling, stopping the ball and passing.

A limited number of extra tap shoes are available at the studio for those students who don’t have them.

Also covered will be who and when to call in an emergency.     3886 - Woodcraft Day Camp

    WOODCRAFT DAY CAMP (Entering grades 6-8)
    LET NATURE BE YOUR TEACHER! A well-known Irondequoit tradition! Join us to experience this unique hometown camp, there’s nothing like it! There are new sessions and field trips this year! Each session will include outdoor skills, hiking, swimming, sports, games, crafts, and learning to cook over a campfire, along with various other campsite activities.
    Sessions 1, 2, and 4 conclude with an organized overnight campout (weather permitting) where campers will sleep in rope beds they’ve made themselves, cook over a camp fire and participate in a traditional “ghost” walk! Transportation provided, refer to day camp bus schedule. Medical and immunization records required at time of registration.
    NOTE: On the morning after the overnight, dismissal is at 7:30 am with no bus return. If the overnight is cancelled before 11:00 pm, camp will run normal hours the next day. Children registered for Extended Camp will be transported to Camp Eastman, by bus, at the end of the regular camp day and need to be picked up by 5:45 pm.
    Clothesline (Sessions 1,2, and 4 only): Each camper in sessions 1,2, and 4 will need 200 feet of cotton clothesline. This can be purchased at Black’s Hardware at 610 East Ridge Road.
    Location: All sessions at Woodcraft Lodge, ½ mile hike behind Public Safety Building, 1300 Titus Ave. Drop off and Pick-up at the Pioneer House behind the Gazebo at the Town Hall. Please use the back parking lot of the Town Hall for pickup and drop off.

    3887 - KinderCamp

    KINDERCAMP (*Ages 4-5)
    Laughing, smiling, and having fun with friends is what it’s all about at KinderCamp. Learning and development are enhanced by our daily activities. This camp is a great opportunity for the young day camper to meet friends and explore all a day camp has to offer, at their own pace and with their own themes! Campers will need a bathing suit, towel, a snack and water bottle each day. Please label all belongings. Medical and immunization records are required at time of registration.
    *PLEASE NOTE: Children must be 4 years of age by September 1, 2019 to participate and be able to independently use the bathroom.

    3892 - Junior Police Academy Camp

    Junior Police Camp (Age 12-16)
    Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and tours to familiarize them with aspects of modern day law enforcement. Some of the topics discussed will include: traffic stops, internet safety, firearms safety, evidence collection, DWI recognition, along with tours of IPD, the Emergency Dispatch Center and the Public Safety Training Facility. Participants will receive a Jr. Police Camp t-shirt. Campers will need to bring a snack, non-Perishable lunch, and water daily. Lunch will be provided on Friday only. Immunization records required at time of registration. Please make sure you have also completed required Medical Registration #3895-F prior to registering for camp session.

    Registrants ages 12 and 13 years old may be registered for Extended Care through the Summer Day Camp Program at an additional cost of $50/week. Extended Care runs until 5:45pm and is supervised by the Day Camp Staff. If registering for Extended Care – also register for #3892-B.

    3925 - Iroquois PG Program

    IROQUOIS PLAYGROUND PROGRAM (Entering grades 1-8)
    Please note new registration changes that took effect in 2018! This program is open to all Irondequoit youth. Each playground provides a wholesome and age appropriate recreational experience for your child. Scheduled activities at each site include a variety of sports, games, crafts and swimming. Playground participation does not require the child to be in attendance each day. Playground participants are required to sign in and out daily.

    NEW FOR 2019
    You may register for just the morning session; just the afternoon session or both sessions.
    Playground sites do have a maximum registration number. If a site is full, you may choose to register at a different site. A waitlist will be taken as well for each site. We would like to offer this opportunity to all interested Irondequoit youth. If you are unable to attend a week that you registered for, please let us know so that we can offer the spot to the next person on the waitlist. There will be no registration at the individual sites.

    MEDICAL REGISTRATION:
    Immunization records are required by law for all youth under 16 years of age upon registration for the Playground Program. Medical information and alternate emergency numbers are required on registration for all programs. Prior to registering for the Playground Program, online registrants must register and submit medical information and immunization records in the program that corresponds with their camp:

Said Regulations of this code may be examined at the Irondequoit Bureau of Recreation Office, 154 Pinegrove Avenue, during regular office hours. Inspection reports are also on file. This program is funded in part by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services through the Rochester Monroe County Youth Bureau. Transportation is not provided to and from playground sites.
