Summer Day Camp Registration is open for Residents and begins for Non-Residents on Thursday, May 3rd. Playground Program Registration begins Wed., April 18th. Registration for all other Summer 2018 programs begins Thursday, May 3rd for Residents and Tues., May 8th for Non-Residents.

Register early and often so your programs do not get cancelled! Programs that have not met their minimum may be cancelled one week prior to the program start date.

    2209 - Rainbow Ribbons

    Rainbow Ribbons: Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (Ages 4-6)
    Aesthetic Group Gymnastics is relatively new to the U.S and brought to us by a rhythmic gymnast who has competed all around the world. The Rainbow Ribbons program is non-competitive, allowing children to explore the combined graceful art of music, dance, and gymnastics in a supervised, fun setting. The children will learn how to work and trust each other as a team in a pleasant, upbeat setting while they learn artistic routines. Equipment includes scarves, ball, hoops, and ropes. Children will learn the basics of core strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and rhythm. They will also learn body waves, swings, ballet, gymnastic jumps and leaps, and dance steps.

    This thirty-minute class will introduce young children to music and dance while exploring movement and basic dance steps in a fun, creative way.     Little Lions Soccer (Ages 2-9)
    A fun and educational Soccer program run by Global Premier Soccer / Rochester Futbol Club and the enrichment specialists of Happy Feet. All curriculums facilitate the development of motor and coordination skills. All sessions are held in a fun and positive environment, where players are encouraged to play with a smile on their face to build brave, creative leaders.
    Ages 2-3: 2 & 3 year olds will enjoy nursery rhymes, songs and stories with “Bob the Bobcat” soccer ball. All activities will be taught through an age specific curriculum.
    Ages 4-6: 4-6 year olds will have a blast taking “Bob” the soccer ball on fun adventures through age appropriate games and activities.
    Ages 7-9: Little Lions 7-9 year olds will learn the fundamentals of soccer using fun and energetic games and competitions. This class is an hour long.

    Kids Clay Class (Ages 5-13)
    Create a large box or bowl by twisting clay coils and putting the pieces together or a bird feeder for your backyard. Your child will make one large clay project of choice and learn basic hand building techniques and experiment with carving.     Empire Tennis Academy – Junior Entry Level Group Tennis Lessons (Ages 4-8)
    With convenient times and locations, Empire Tennis has several options for junior players. Headquartered out of the Harley School, Empire Tennis Academy strives to help you improve your game, gain confidence, stay fit, and foster long lasting friendships and bonds with other fellow players. Jason Speirs, Director of Empire Tennis Academy, will coordinate the program and his staff will be teaching it. This tennis program is for Entry Level players only – those who have either never played before or have very minimal experience. Groups are separated by age and the goal of the program will be to teach basic strokes and use drills and games that will show tennis can be a lot of fun to play.     3886 - Woodcraft Day Camp

    WOODCRAFT DAY CAMP (Entering grades 6-8)
    LET NATURE BE YOUR TEACHER! A well-known Irondequoit tradition! Join us to experience this unique hometown camp, there’s nothing like it! There are new sessions and field trips this year! Each session will include outdoor skills, hiking, swimming, sports, games, crafts, and learning to cook over a campfire, along with various other campsite activities.
    Sessions 1, 2, and 4 conclude with an organized overnight campout (weather permitting) where campers will sleep in rope beds they’ve made themselves, cook over a camp fire and participate in a traditional “ghost” walk! Transportation provided, refer to day camp bus schedule. Medical and immunization records required at time of registration.

    NOTE: On the morning after the overnight, dismissal is at 7:30 am with no bus return. If the overnight is cancelled before 11:00 pm, camp will run normal hours the next day. Children registered for Extended Camp will be transported to Camp Eastman, by bus, at the end of the regular camp day and need to be picked up by 5:45 pm.

    Clothesline (Sessions 1,2, and 4 only): Each camper in sessions 1,2, and 4 will need 200 feet of cotton clothesline. This can be purchased at Black’s Hardware at 610 East Ridge Road.

    Location: All sessions at Woodcraft Lodge, ½ mile hike behind Public Safety Building, 1300 Titus Ave. Drop off and Pick-up at the Pioneer House behind the Gazebo at the Town Hall. Please use the back parking lot of the Town Hall for pickup and drop off.

    KINDERCAMP (*Ages 4-5)
    Laughing, smiling, and having fun with friends is what it’s all about at KinderCamp. Learning and development are enhanced by our daily activities. This camp is a great opportunity for the young day camper to meet friends and explore all a day camp has to offer, at their own pace and with their own themes!     Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and tours to familiarize them with aspects of modern day law enforcement. Some of the topics discussed will include: traffic stops, internet safety, firearms safety, evidence collection, DWI recognition, along with tours of IPD, the Emergency Dispatch Center and the Public Safety Training Facility. Participants will receive a Jr. Police Camp t-shirt. Campers will need to bring a snack, non-Perishable lunch, and water daily. Lunch will be provided on Friday only. Immunization records required at time of registration. Please make sure you have also completed required Medical Registration #3895-F prior to registering for camp session.

    Registrants ages 12 and 13 years old may be registered for Extended Care through the Summer Day Camp Program at an additional cost of $50/week. Extended Care runs until 5:45pm and is supervised by the Day Camp Staff. If registering for Extended Care – also register for #3892-B.
