    IROQUOIS PLAYGROUND PROGRAM (Entering grades 1-8)

Each playground provides a wholesome and age appropriate recreational experience for your child. Scheduled activities at each site include a variety of sports, games, crafts and swimming.     5055 - Intro Flatwater Kayaking

    Intro to Flatwater Kayaking (Ages 16 and Up)
    Flatwater kayaks are amazing boats, they well-suited to exploring everything from calm lakes and rivers to remote coastlines. Our course is designed for both the casual paddler and people who are interested in kayak touring. Lock 32 instructors will introduce you to proper technique and safety skills required for you to enjoy your future kayaking adventures. This program begins at the Lock 32 Whitewater Park and is held on the adjacent Erie Canal. From there, we will tour a stretch of the Canal and one of the many historic turning basins. Our low (1:5) instructor to student ratio ensures that you will get the personal attention that you deserve. So, let us, at Lock 32, help you build a strong foundation that will begin a lifetime of kayaking adventures. No kayaking experience needed, all necessary equipment is included, but feel free to bring your own flatwater boat and equipment.

    Irondequoit Striders (50+)
    Are you looking to get out, go for a walk and enjoy some fresh air, but don’t want to do it alone? Now you don’t have to! Join our walking club! We walk on Thursday mornings from 10:30 to approximately 11:30am or try our evening session from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. We’ll walk a different path and end with a relaxing stretch exercise. We will enjoy a social at the end of our 8-week session, so you can continue your walking journey with the new friends you have made! Each “Strider” will receive a program T-Shirt. Participants must be able to walk at a brisk pace.

Students can choose to work on project of their choice by combining stenciling and pouring techniques that they will learn during the course of the class. Students will be coordinating and mixing color choices, using simple swipe technique to create movement on their canvas, and create and produce an original piece of display-ready expressive art.     Do you enjoying getting out to play golf with friends or hoping to join a welcoming league? We have just what you are looking for! This friendly league plays a 20-week season, each week we play 9 holes, and will have your stats available. We play at Shore Acres, located at 1165 Greenleaf Road. The first pair will tee off at 8:30 am and then tee times will start in approximately 7 minutes intervals after that. Fee includes registration and all greens fees. All levels of players are welcome! Need a partner? Give us a call and we’ll try to help pair you up with someone. Can’t commit to all 20 weeks, but still want to play? We keep a sub list; give us a call for more information: 336-6077
