Fall Registration opens for Residents on Thursday, September 6 and begins for Non-Residents on Tuesday, September 11. Please note there are some Early Fall sports programs at McAvoy Park that registration is already open for.

Register early and often so your programs do not get cancelled! Programs that have not met their minimum may be cancelled one week prior to the program start date.

    Home Alone (Ages 7-14)
    This course is designed to teach children the importance of behaving responsibly and how to handle themselves when confronted with challenges while home alone. Topics include but are not limited to, first aid, what to do when a stranger comes to the door, telephone tips, Internet safety as well as how to react during a variety of miscellaneous emergencies such as a power outage. Also covered will be who and when to call in an emergency. Knowing when your child is ready to stay home alone is a difficult decision; preparation can make the transition much easier for you and your child.
    Course fee includes a workbook that will serve as a take home reference.

    The sewing/textile arts programs taught by Creativity Shell are customized and structured based on age, location, and size of the class we are working with. Structured programs are designed to give confidence to students. During the class sewing machines will be used and all materials and supplies will be provided. Students begin with easy projects with instant gratification. As the class progresses students will work on projects that take a few classes to complete and by the last few classes they are working on a larger project with incorporates techniques and skills they have learned such as adding zippers, pockets, button holes and more. Kids will do several projects over the 12 weeks!

    NEW! How Cool is That? Jr. Engineering Club (Ages 6-12)
    Is your young scientist or engineer ready to go beyond the textbook and begin to understand, apply and excel at the Science and Math concepts they are learning in school? Our 100% hands-on approach encourages kids to use Science and Math for real-world applications. Students build machines using different concepts such as: electricity, magnetism, hydraulics, wheels and axles, gears, push-and-pull forces, and many more. Students will complete a mix of projects during the class. Some will be built in the classroom using K’Nex, and others will be projects that they can take home and share with family and friends!
